Product Intern
ABOUT SUPPLYBISTRO – Building the data engine behind the food economy.
Small and mid-sized food operators represent roughly 40 to 60 percent of total food sales. Their operations remain fragmented, manual, and under-digitized. SupplyBistro exists to close that gap.
Our SaaS platform turns everyday operational workflows into real-time, doubly validated data. That data helps our customers increase sales, reduce operating costs, improve purchasing decisions, gain visibility across their supply chain, and operate on analytics instead of instinct.
THE MODEL
- Every workflow creates data.
- The software creates the data.
- The data becomes the business.
WHERE WE SIT
SaaS and ERP – The operating system food businesses run their day on
Marketplaces – Buyers and sellers transacting, with every order captured as structured data
AI and Data – Validated transaction data turned into forecasting, pricing, and decision support
Supply Chain – Procurement, fulfillment, and logistics connected end to end
We are an early-stage company. That is the point. The platform is being built right now, by a small team, for customers who are already using it. There is more work than there are people to do it, which is exactly why our students are given real responsibility.
REAL WORK. REAL RESPONSIBILITY. REAL IMPACT.
At SupplyBistro, we do not believe in paper internships.
Our interns do not spend a semester observing meetings, organizing files, or working on projects that never leave the classroom. Every intern joins a team with a clear mission, measurable objectives, and meaningful ownership.
From day one you will contribute to projects that reach our customers, our platform, and our company's growth. Whether you are developing software, designing products, implementing AI, analyzing data, building partnerships, or supporting a fundraising process, your work becomes part of the business. You will collaborate with founders, engineers, product managers, designers, and business leaders on problems real customers are facing.
We believe the best way to learn is by building. That also means accountability. Interns are trusted with meaningful responsibilities and are expected to communicate professionally, meet commitments, seek feedback, and improve continuously. We provide mentorship and guidance. We also expect initiative, curiosity, and ownership.
Our internships are designed to replicate the experience of being an early member of a growing technology company. The challenges are real, the expectations are high, and the learning is substantial.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- Work on projects that are deployed, implemented, or presented to customers and company
leadership
- Own meaningful deliverables rather than shadowing full-time employees
- Collaborate across engineering, product, business, and strategy teams
- Receive regular feedback and mentorship throughout your internship
- Build a portfolio of work that demonstrates measurable impact
OUR PROMISE
We are committed to creating an environment where students are challenged, supported, and trusted. You will leave SupplyBistro with more than experience. You will leave with accomplishments.
OUR COMMITMENT TO STUDENT SUCCESS
School comes first.
SupplyBistro follows a strict School Comes First policy. Your education always takes priority over your internship. We build schedules around exams, coursework, thesis work, and academic deadlines, and we expect open communication when your academic load changes. No student should ever feel forced to choose between this internship and their degree.

PROGRAM | PRODUCT
PROGRAM MISSION
Decide what gets built and why. Product sits between the operators who use the platform and the engineers who build it, turning what customers actually need into something shippable, priced, and measurable. You will bring evidence to decisions that are usually made on instinct.
AREAS OF FOCUS
Product Strategy – Roadmap, positioning, tier design, and prioritization
Product Analytics – Instrumentation, KPIs, and adoption measurement
Technology Product Design – Wireframes, flows, and interface design
Customer Discovery – Interviews, journey mapping, and feature validation
EXAMPLE PROJECTS
Projects our students own, not tasks they assist with.
- Run structured interviews with operators and convert them into product requirements
- Map the customer journey from first login to repeat transaction
- Design and test pricing tiers against real willingness to pay
- Wireframe a workflow and carry it through to engineering handoff
- Build a KPI dashboard that leadership uses in weekly review
- Validate a feature before it is built — and recommend killing it if the evidence says so
- Draft a quarterly roadmap and defend the sequencing
SKILLS YOU WILL DEVELOP
Technical: Wireframing and prototyping tools, SQL and analytics fundamentals, product instrumentation, experiment design
Business: Pricing and packaging, positioning, market sizing, prioritization frameworks, unit economics
Leadership: Driving a decision without formal authority; saying no with evidence behind it
Communication: Customer interviewing, specification writing, presenting a recommendation to founders
IDEAL CANDIDATES
Education: Business, engineering, design, information science, economics, or a related field. Undergraduate through PhD, including MBA.
Experience: Product coursework, case competitions, design work, research, or a previous internship. Preferred, not required.
Mindset: Talks to customers before forming an opinion. Comfortable being wrong quickly. Writes clearly.
INTERNSHIP FORMATS
Summer, fall, and spring internships / Multi-semester / Co-op / CPT / OPT, including STEM OPT as a possibility
WHY JOIN THIS PROGRAM
Product decisions at a large company arrive pre-made. Here you will be in the room where the decision happens, with founders who expect you to argue your case. The features you validate get built. The pricing you test gets used. The dashboard you design becomes how the company measures itself.
