About You

  • Studying or graduated from a program in digital marketing, social media, communications, marketing, public relations, media, or a related field.
  • Passionate about social media, digital culture, entertainment, music, fashion, lifestyle, and online communities.
  • Active and knowledgeable across platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and other emerging social platforms.
  • Strong understanding of short-form content, social trends, platform culture, and audience engagement.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to identify timely, relevant, and shareable content opportunities.
  • Strong communication, writing, research, and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable using digital tools, spreadsheets, social media dashboards, and online research resources.
  • Interested in learning how social media supports editorial content, music releases, brand partnerships, campaigns, and audience growth.
  • Highly organized, motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with social media, editorial, marketing, music, and creative teams.
  • Proactive and able to manage tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Professional and capable of handling confidential information.
  • Available part-time (minimum 8 hours/week) or full-time for at least 4 months.
  • Experience creating content, managing social accounts, or building an audience online is considered an asset.

Social Media Management Internship Role

Funktasy – Magazine & Music Group is looking for highly motivated, creative, and organized individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in social media management, digital content, audience engagement, platform strategy, and entertainment marketing.

As part of the Social Media team, you will support content planning and execution across Funktasy’s social platforms while helping promote Funktasy Magazine, Funktasy Music Group, artists, editorial content, brand partnerships, and other company initiatives. You will contribute to trend research, content development, campaign support, social monitoring, reporting, and cross-platform audience growth.

Throughout the internship, you’ll gain practical experience with social media strategy, content planning, platform trends, audience engagement, campaign reporting, digital storytelling, and social media analytics within a growing entertainment and media company.

Your Responsibilities

  • Source and identify relevant, timely, and engaging content opportunities across major social media platforms.
  • Research social media trends, viral formats, emerging conversations, and platform developments relevant to Funktasy’s audiences and brands.
  • Support content planning and publishing across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and other digital platforms.
  • Assist with developing social media campaigns that support Funktasy Magazine, Funktasy Music Group, artists, brand partnerships, and company initiatives.
  • Contribute creative ideas for short-form videos, posts, stories, reels, social campaigns, and audience-engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Funktasy’s graphic design and creative teams to develop social media assets and promotional content.
  • Monitor social media activity, audience engagement, reach, trends, and other relevant performance indicators.
  • Assist with preparing social media reports, campaign summaries, internal briefings, and performance updates.
  • Support community engagement and help identify opportunities to strengthen audience relationships across Funktasy’s platforms.
  • Coordinate with editorial, marketing, A&R, music, and creative teams to align social media activity with broader campaigns and content plans.
  • Support promotional activity around music releases, interviews, editorial features, brand partnerships, events, and special projects.
  • Maintain organized content calendars, campaign materials, social assets, and related project documentation.
  • Identify emerging trends and develop creative, out-of-the-box ideas that can support Funktasy’s artists, editorial content, brand campaigns, and audience growth.
  • Assist with other social media, content, audience-development, and administrative projects as required.

Internship Terms & Conditions

  • Funktasy Internship Programs are unpaid. Upon request, Funktasy is willing to work with a student to receive academic credit through their school/university program.
  • You must be at least 18 years of age.
  • We do not offer housing or travel accommodations.
  • We do not offer any work visas for international students.
  • All internship programs are in English.

Duration & Schedule

  • Length: Standard internship term is 4 months (approx. 140 hours total). Extensions may be available if desired.
  • Weekly Commitment: 8 hours per week, with half of those hours (4 hrs/week) dedicated to mandatory online group meetings.
  • Start Dates: Internships begin every two months (bi-monthly start dates). Placements are first-come, first-served.
  • Registration: We recommend applying 3–6 months in advance to secure your preferred term.
  • School Credit: If your school requires additional hours for credit, schedules can be adjusted accordingly.

Location

  • Hybrid/online – Remote from Canada, U.S.A. or Europe.
