Simulation Developer- National Readiness Lab (Defense)
Build What Saves Lives
Avyon Consulting Group is building an FPV drone combat training simulator for the U.S. military. Our National Readiness Lab in Houston develops immersive training systems that put drone operators inside the fight before they reach the battlefield.
We are looking for a developer to help build the core flight simulation. If you know Unity or Unreal, are curious about flight physics, and want to work on something real instead of another class project, this is for you.
What You Will Build
- FPV drone flight simulator with realistic flight physics
- Mission systems: strike, intercept, payload delivery, and replay
- Hardware integration connecting real drone controllers to the simulation
- Combat environments reconstructed from real battlefield footage
What We Are Looking For
- Unity (C#) or Unreal Engine (C++) development experience
- Interest in flight physics, vehicle dynamics, or simulation
- Shipped at least one project (class project, game jam, personal project all count)
- U.S. citizenship required
Nice to Have
- FPV drone experience
- Hardware or controller integration experience
- Interest in defense or military technology
- Reinforcement learning or AI experience
Why This Matters
This is not an internship where you shadow someone. You are building a product that military buyers are waiting for. The developer who builds this system becomes the technical foundation of the lab. When funding comes in, you are first in line for a full-time position.
