Assistant Accountant & Business Development Intern

Wendroff & Associates, CPA, is seeking a motivated undergraduate intern to support both accounting operations and business development within a growing, future-focused CPA firm. This is a paid, part-time internship designed for a student with strong analytical and technical aptitude who is interested in how client needs, internal processes, marketing, and technology intersect in a professional services environment. The intern will support the firm’s client intake and quoting process by helping assess prospective client needs, ensuring those needs are clearly documented, and assisting in aligning appropriate services and solutions to support client conversion. Working closely with the firm’s Accountant & Business Development Specialist, the intern will also gain hands-on exposure to tax and accounting workflows, automation initiatives, and operational systems supporting small- to mid-sized business clients.
Your Role & Responsibilities
- Assist with setting up email marketing and other outreach campaigns, including contact data mining and organization, and supporting campaign execution
- Support the client intake and quoting process by gathering, organizing, and documenting prospective client information
- Assist with evaluating client needs and translating them into internal workflows and service recommendations
- Learn core tax and accounting processes for small to mid-sized businesses
- Gain exposure to individual and business tax returns and related implications
- Assist with the creation and improvement of internal processes, automations, and operational efficiencies
- Participate in firm meetings, training sessions, and select client-related activities to gain a broader understanding of public accounting operations

We’re looking for someone who is comfortable learning new systems, asks thoughtful questions, and takes ownership of their work.
Requirements
- Junior or senior undergraduate student
- Business- or technology-focused major preferred (Accounting, Management Information Systems, Marketing, or a related field)
- Strong technical aptitude with an interest in how systems, processes, and data support business operations
- Able to learn and implement new software, tools, and workflows quickly
Key Skills & Strengths
- Ability to follow established processes while adapting them to new situations
- Interest in documenting, improving, and streamlining workflows
- Analytical mindset with attention to accuracy, efficiency, and organization
- Exposure to data analysis, automation tools, or basic coding concepts is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
