Senior UX/UI Designer
HANGER is hiring a Senior UX/UI Designer (Remote)
You'll ship real screens in week one — not spend three weeks producing a design system nobody builds against.
HANGER is a fashion-social platform: communities, events, ticketing, and sponsorship woven into one product. We're building the only FaaS — Fashion-as-a-Service — platform: the infrastructure layer that lets fashion communities organize, gather, sell, and grow without stitching together five tools that were never meant to talk to each other.
We're pre-seed and early. That means the product you design this quarter is the product HANGER ships. No legacy screens to inherit, no committee to convince, no quarter-long research rituals before anything reaches users. You'll join a small team that already ships, and you'll own the design of the mobile app as a senior voice on it.
If you've spent the last few years polishing inside someone else's design system and want to be the one making the calls — architecture, flows, interaction, the visual language — this is the seat. Move fast, ship to real users, learn what's true, repeat.
What you'll do
- Own the mobile app end to end — information architecture, flows, screens, interaction, and visual polish, from problem to shipped product. Mobile is where your focus lives.
- Contribute to the desktop platform too — keep mobile and desktop coherent as one product, not two experiences that drifted apart.
- Set design direction: the patterns, interaction models, and design system everything else gets built against.
- Ship on a tight 0-to-1 cadence — small, real, in front of users — and iterate from what you learn.
- Work alongside a software engineering team and product managers — hand off specs they're glad to build, not mockups they have to reverse-engineer.
- Do just enough research to make the right call, then ship — you'll balance real user insight with velocity.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of professional UX/UI design experience, designing and shipping digital products in production.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating various user-centered product experiences that actually shipped — you've owned real apps end to end, ideally across iOS.
- Strong skills or experience in AI-driven design workflows, utilizing tools such as Claude Design or other agentic tools within design software.
- Real craft in interaction and visual design, plus fluency in Figma, prototyping, and design systems.
- A 0-to-1 disposition: comfortable with ambiguity, biased to ship, allergic to process for its own sake.
- Someone who thrives on a small team where ownership is wide and the blast radius of your decisions is real.
- Flexible in handling requests and able to switch tasks quickly if needed
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort in a fast-paced environment
- Out of Box thinker and creator
- Good eye for detail and consistency; no detail is too small or insignificant
- Excellent collaboration skills and visual communication ability
- Eligible to work in the US
What we offer
HANGER is equity-only until we close our seed round. There is no cash salary in the interim. We're not going to dress that up. Here's the full picture:
- Equity: shares of Class B HANGER stock, awarded on successful completion of your first 120 days. Vesting is 1/3 of the shares at the end of each successive quarter, reaching 100% vested four quarters after the grant.
- First right to a paid role on funding: when HANGER closes its round, you get first right to a paid part-time or full-time position. This is contingent on the round closing — we're not promising a date, and we won't pretend we can.
- A personalized professional and career development plan built around where you want to go.
- A real ownership stake in the only Fashion-as-a-Service platform.
