Community Relations Internship

JOB REQUIREMENTS:     Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to think creatively, as well as be highly driven and self-motivated. 

Must be available to attend after hours and weekend events, as required.

 

 Education: At least one year of post-secondary education from an accredited college with a minimum 2.5 grade point average. Non-profit, education, or public relations degree path preferred. 

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Objective To assist personnel in the Community Relations department to perform those functions necessary to communicate information and ideas between members and management of Middle Tennessee Electric.

 To increase the level of member understanding and satisfaction regarding his/her electric service and MTE’s policies, programs, and activities.

 Supervises: None

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:    Under the direction of the Community Relations Supervisor and within the limits of established policies, assumes responsibility for the personal performance of the following activities:

To assist the Community Relations Department in projects affecting their area of expertise. 

Specific tasks will range from data collection and review, community events coordination and various other responsibilities as directed by the Community Relations Supervisor.

 

OFFICE EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Windows Software:  Microsoft Office Suite.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, stoop, lift, and perform repetitive motions; plan and organize work; perform routine reading and paperwork; work with other people; use equipment properly; and perform essential functions of the job while maintaining safe work practices.
