Social Media Intern
Reel in Your First Big Break: Social Media & Content Creation Intern (Graphic Design)
MyFishingBuds · Remote · Part-time (~10–20 hrs/week, flexible around classes) · Paid or academic credit — your choice.
Cast a Line Into Your Career
Do you spend half your day scrolling fishing clips and the other half wishing you were on the water? Turn that into a portfolio. MyFishingBuds is looking for a creative, camera-comfortable intern to run our social channels and make
scroll-stopping content for a fast-growing community of anglers.
About MyFishingBuds
MyFishingBuds is the social network built for anglers, by anglers. We help people find fishing buddies near them, share their best catches on a live catch feed and Brag Board, join fishing clubs, plan trips and tournaments, log catches, ID their fish, and figure out license rules state by state — all in one web + mobile app.
We're small, growing fast, and shipping new features constantly. That means your ideas actually go live — not into a slide deck. If you want real ownership, a real audience, and the freedom to experiment, you'll fit right in. What You'll Do:
🎯 Social Media Management
- Own the day-to-day on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Reddit and YouTube — posting, scheduling, captions, and community replies
- Grow our following and engagement by jumping on trends, sounds, and formats while they're hot
- Track what's working (reach, saves, follows) and bring ideas to make the next post better
🎬 Content Creation
- Shoot and edit short-form video (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) and photos around fishing, the outdoors, and community life
- Turn app features, user catches, and fishing tips into fun, shareable content
- Help shape our voice — bold, friendly, and unmistakably angler
🎨 Graphic Design
- Design graphics for social posts, stories, and campaigns
- Create occasional print and promo materials — flyers, banners, merch/swag, and event pieces
- Keep everything on-brand and consistent across platforms
What We're Looking For:
- Genuine love for fishing, the outdoors, or angler culture (you don't have to be a pro you just have to get it)
- A pulse on social media trends, especially short-form video
- Hands-on with design tools — Canva and/or Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Comfortable with video editing (CapCut, Premiere, or similar)
- A creative eye, self-starter energy, and the ability to juggle a few projects at once
- Bonus: your own phone/camera, a personal social following, or existing content you've made
No degree or years of experience required — a strong sample reel beats a long résumé.
What You'll Gain
- Real hands-on experience running social for a live, growing brand
- A portfolio full of published work (video, design, campaigns) you can show off
- Mentorship and direct feedback from the founder — no getting lost in a big org
- Creative freedom to pitch and run your own ideas and campaigns
- Flexible, remote schedule that works around school
- Paid or academic credit, whichever fits your situation
- A foot in the door as we grow — strong interns are the first we look to
