What Avenue is
Avenue is a ticketing platform for event organizers - the people running concerts, comedy shows, and festivals in your city. Organizers on legacy platforms wait a week to get paid for shows they've already thrown. On Avenue they get their money the same night, see exactly which promoter sold every ticket, and run their whole event from one dashboard. We're now taking that to mobile.
What you'll actually do
You'll own the entire Capacitor app for both b2b and b2c. Building real features, used by real organizers and ticket buyers:
- Build UI and features in React 19 + TypeScript inside our Capacitor mobile apps.
- Work on both sides of a live marketplace: the organizer dashboard app (B2B) and the ticket-buying app (B2C)
- Integrate native device features through Capacitor plugins - camera/QR scanning for door entry, push notifications, wallet passes
- Ship on a weekly cadence with code review from senior engineers on every PR
What you'll learn
- How a real two-sided marketplace works end to end: React frontend → Hono/TypeScript API → PostgreSQL → Stripe payments
- Mobile app development without needing prior iOS/Android experience — your web skills transfer directly, and you'll pick up the native layer (Swift/Kotlin) as you go
- What it's like to ship at a startup where your code is in production the same week you write it
You are
- A student or recent grad in CS/engineering (or self-taught with projects to show)
- Solid with React and TypeScript — coursework is fine, side projects are better
- Curious about mobile; bonus if you've touched Capacitor, React Native, or shipped anything to an app store
- Someone who'd rather own a feature end-to-end than be handed tickets
