Research and Business Development Intern

Research, Content Creation  and Business Development Intern

Unpaid – Part-Time – Flexible Hours – NYC / Remote

What we are building

frame1.ai is an early-stage AI startup automating the compliance function for registered investment advisers and broker-dealers – firms that manage billions in client wealth and are regulated by the SEC and FINRA.

The role

We need a sharp, self-directed researcher and communicator to help us grow our presence and pipeline across multiple fronts: content that attracts inbound leads, social publishing that builds credibility, and targeted outreach that books discovery calls for the founder. You will do targeted research, build a prioritized prospect list, write outreach, and work to book discovery calls for the founder.

This is not a single-track role. You will move between writing, research, SEO, and direct outreach depending on weekly priorities. If you want to build a full-stack growth skill set in a real startup environment, this is the role.

What you will actually do

–     Use public regulatory databases and professional networks to identify and profile senior compliance professionals at investment advisory firms

–     Research and verify contact information, career history, and firm details

Content and publishing

–     Research and draft two to four short-form articles or blog posts per month on topics relevant to compliance officers at investment advisory firms

–     Write and schedule three LinkedIn posts per week for the company page – mix of educational content, regulatory commentary, and product updates

SEO and website

–     Identify target search keywords that compliance professionals at investment advisory firms and broker-dealers are actively using

List building and outreach

–     Use public regulatory databases and professional networks to identify and profile senior compliance professionals across multiple segments of the financial services market

–     Build and maintain a prioritised prospect list with contact details, firm profile, and relevant signals for each target

What you will learn

–     How the SEC and FINRA regulate investment advisers and broker-dealers – knowledge that transfers directly to compliance, fintech, or financial services careers

–     How to navigate public regulatory databases that most finance professionals have never used

–     Content marketing and SEO fundamentals: keyword research, on-page optimisation, publishing cadence, and performance tracking

–     B2B LinkedIn strategy: how to build an audience and generate inbound interest in a niche professional market

–     B2B sales development: prospecting, qualifying, outreach sequencing, and objection handling

–     What an early-stage startup looks like before the playbook is written

Who we are looking for

–     Junior or senior undergraduate, or graduate student in finance, economics, business, law, or a related field

–     Comfortable working independently with minimal hand-holding

–     Strong written communication – you will be writing on behalf of the founder

–     Curious about financial regulation, fintech, or compliance technology

- Some interest or prior exposure to content creation, digital marketing, or SEO is a bonus but not required

–     Available 8–12 hours per week with flexible scheduling

No prior compliance knowledge required. We will teach you everything you need.

Compensation

This is an unpaid voluntary position. In return you receive:

–     Direct mentorship from the founder (20+ years in financial technology and business process)

–     A tailored reference letter and LinkedIn endorsement

–     Demonstrable research and business development skills you can speak to specifically in interviews

–     First consideration for a paid role when we raise funding

–     A named credit in our company story if your outreach leads to a signed client

To apply

Send a short note – three to five sentences, not a cover letter – telling us one thing that genuinely interests you about financial regulation or compliance technology, and attach your CV.
