Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Institutional Sales & Strategy Analyst to support client coverage, business development, market research, and strategic initiatives across the firm.
This role is ideal for someone intellectually curious who enjoys financial markets, investment research, client interaction and solving business problems. The successful candidate will become an integral part of a small, high-performing team where responsibilities extend well beyond those of a traditional analyst.
Key Responsibilities
Institutional Sales Support
- Prepare meeting materials, presentations, and client briefing books
- Maintain CRM and track institutional relationships and pipeline activity
- Assist with client outreach and follow-up communications
- Coordinate meetings, roadshows, conferences, and investor events
- Prepare call notes and action items following client meetings
- Support fundraising initiatives for investment manager clients
Investment & Market Research
- Research institutional investors, consultants, family offices, and insurance companies
- Analyze industry trends across hedge funds, private markets, credit, infrastructure, insurance-linked securities, and alternative investments
- Monitor fundraising activity across competing investment managers
- Develop market intelligence reports on emerging investment themes
- Research allocator preferences, portfolio construction trends, and industry developments
- Identify new business opportunities through proprietary research
Competitive Intelligence
- Track competitor fundraising strategies and market positioning
- Analyze product launches, investment strategies, and organizational changes
- Monitor institutional mandates, consultant recommendations, and RFP activity
- Produce benchmarking reports comparing clients against competitors
- Build and maintain market intelligence databases
Business Analytics & Reporting
- Produce recurring business reports and management dashboards
- Track sales pipeline metrics and fundraising activity
- Analyze client engagement and business development effectiveness
- Support forecasting and revenue analysis
- Develop KPIs for business performance
- Create executive presentations for internal strategy discussions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Marketing, Business, Accounting, or any related fields
- Internship or Full Time experience in any finance, business, strategy consulting, or research role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skill with exceptional attention to detail. Creative thinking to solve legacy problems is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint and experience with CRM systems, especially Hubspot is a plus
- Familiarity with Dakota, Evestment, Preqin, or other financial databases is advantageous
- Comfortable working with AI productivity tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Granola)
