Creator & Community Partnerships Intern
Location: [Remote / Hybrid / City]
Schedule: [10–20 hours per week]
Dates: [Semester or summer dates]
Compensation: [Actual hourly range]
Type: Internship
What we’re building
We’re building a new way for ecommerce brands and the people who advise them to improve online storefronts.
Some of the most valuable business relationships do not begin with a traditional sales pitch. They begin through trusted communities, creators, newsletters, student groups, founders, operators, and people who are genuinely useful to one another.
This role is about developing those relationships.
What you’ll do
You’ll help us identify and work with:
- Creators who talk about fashion, design, ecommerce, retail, or entrepreneurship.
- Founder and operator communities.
- Campus entrepreneurship, fashion, marketing, and design organizations.
- Newsletters, podcasts, events, and educational communities.
- Consultants and people with trusted professional audiences.
- Emerging communities we probably do not know about yet.
You may:
- Research communities and understand what makes each one valuable.
- Identify partnership opportunities that benefit both sides.
- Reach out to creators, organizers, editors, founders, and community leaders.
- Help plan virtual events, workshops, introductions, or collaborative content.
- Manage communications before and after partnership conversations.
- Create clear briefs and make sure commitments are completed.
- Track which relationships create genuine engagement.
- Learn why certain communities trust a recommendation while others ignore it.
- Represent the company in a way that is warm, thoughtful, and credible.
This is not a “post on Instagram all day” internship. It is a relationship and business-development role.
Who we’re looking for
You understand people.
You may be the person who:
- Brings different groups together naturally.
- Knows how to enter a community without immediately asking for something.
- Can make a cold introduction feel considered rather than transactional.
- Understands tone and context.
- Is comfortable communicating in writing, live conversations, and small groups.
- Knows the difference between attention and trust.
- Can move from a creative idea to an organized plan.
- Follows up after the exciting part is over.
- Wants to build a network by being useful—not by collecting contacts.
You do not need to be an influencer, have a public profile, or already know important people.
Strong signals
- You have organized a club, event, publication, group, conference, fundraiser, or community.
- You have recruited members, speakers, sponsors, customers, volunteers, or collaborators.
- You run a newsletter, page, podcast, account, Discord, group chat, or campus organization.
- You have introduced people who later worked together.
- You have maintained a community rather than merely launching one.
- You can explain why certain communities feel authentic and others feel forced.
This probably is not a fit if
- You measure every relationship by follower count.
- You are comfortable sending irrelevant mass outreach.
- You like ideation but consistently avoid logistics.
- You lose interest once an introduction has been made.
- You care more about being seen at events than helping make them successful.
- You cannot receive a direct “no” gracefully.
Why join
- Build relationships across fashion, design, commerce, and entrepreneurship.
- Learn partnerships, community strategy, sales, and customer discovery.
- Take ownership of real initiatives.
- Work directly with the founding team.
- Help define how an early company presents itself to the world.
- Develop skills that transfer to brand partnerships, PR, community, venture, sales, and entrepreneurship.
How to apply
Send:
- Your résumé.
- A one-page Community Note containing:
- One creator, community, publication, or student organization we should meet.
- Why its audience is relevant.
- What we could offer that group.
- The first message you would send.
- One partnership idea that would not feel forced.
Specific and human beats impressive-sounding.
