Beauty & Lifestyle Intern
Beauty & Lifestyle Partnerships Intern
What we’re building
We’re building a faster way for ecommerce brands to understand and improve their online customer experience.
A brand can have an incredible product and still lose customers because its website is unclear, difficult to trust, or simply not communicating what makes the product special. We help brands identify promising storefront improvements, test ideas, and make more informed decisions about what to launch.
For this position, you’ll focus on beauty, skincare, personal care, home, wellness, lifestyle, and design-led consumer brands.
What you’ll do
You’ll help us discover great brands, understand their businesses, and start genuine conversations with the people running them.
You may:
- Research fast-growing and under-the-radar consumer brands.
- Study how brands position themselves, tell their story, and sell online.
- Identify founders, ecommerce leaders, brand managers, agencies, and growth teams.
- Create personalized outreach based on something you actually noticed.
- Build and maintain a thoughtful pipeline of potential customers and partners.
- Join conversations with founders and brand operators.
- Help adapt our positioning for different product categories.
- Develop partnership concepts for communities, retailers, agencies, or brand networks.
- Turn conversations into clear notes and next steps.
- Follow up consistently while keeping communication warm and respectful.
Who we’re looking for
You are socially sharp without being performative.
You probably:
- Notice why people trust certain brands.
- Understand that aesthetics matter, but details and commercial judgment matter too.
- Can communicate with confidence without sounding scripted.
- Listen closely instead of waiting for your turn to speak.
- Pick up on what someone actually cares about.
- Can research independently and come back with a real point of view.
- Are organized enough to manage multiple conversations.
- Care about the quality of your work even when nobody is watching.
- Want to become exceptional at relationships, partnerships, and business.
No specific major is required. Students in marketing, communications, fashion business, retail, design, psychology, entrepreneurship, public relations, or something completely different are welcome.
Strong signals
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- Built a small brand, store, newsletter, event, club, community, or side project.
- Worked in retail, hospitality, beauty, customer service, fundraising, or campus organizations.
- Organized collaborations or convinced people to support an idea.
- Strong opinions about customer experience, packaging, storytelling, retail, or brand identity.
- A reputation for being the person who actually follows up.
- An interesting story about earning someone’s trust.
This probably is not a fit if
- You think business development means sending hundreds of identical messages.
- You are interested only in receiving free products or attending events.
- You dislike hearing constructive feedback.
- You frequently miss details or leave conversations without clear next steps.
- You want a role where the work is completely predefined.
- You are comfortable promising things before confirming that we can deliver them.
Why join
You will get real exposure to:
- Customer discovery.
- Brand partnerships.
- Startup sales.
- Ecommerce strategy.
- Founder communication.
- Campaign development.
- Relationship management.
- Turning qualitative conversations into business decisions.
You will be coached, but you will not be micromanaged.
How to apply
Send:
- Your résumé.
- A one-page Beauty Brand Note containing:
- One beauty or lifestyle brand we should meet.
- What makes the brand compelling.
- Who you would contact.
