Marketing Assistant Internship
INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW
This paid internship is an exciting opportunity for a marketing, communications, or business student to gain hands-on experience in a real-world business environment. You will work directly alongside ownership and leadership, contributing to live campaigns, videography and content creation, and digital strategy. Expect to leave with a strong portfolio, practical skills, and a comprehensive understanding of how marketing drives business growth.
• Duration: Six Months (flexible)
• Hours: 15–20 hours per week (flexible, hybrid)
• Compensation: Paid — competitive hourly rate
• Reports to: Ownership & Leadership
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Content Creation
- Film, draft, create and schedule engaging content for Facebook, Instagram, Google Business, YouTube, and other platforms
- Create graphics, promotional posts, seasonal campaigns, and print media using Canva, Capcut, Clipchamp or similar tools
- Follow a multi-channel content calendar aligned with business goals and promotions
- Assist with email and SMS campaign creation
Social Media Management
- Monitor social media accounts and track post engagement
- Respond to comments, messages, and interactions in a timely, professional manner
- Help grow followers and engagement through consistent, on-brand posting
- Assist with filming, editing, and posting short-form and long-form video content across platforms
Report Analysis
- Help pull and organize monthly marketing performance reports from advertising platforms (Google Ads, Meta, etc.)
- Learn to summarize key metrics including cost per lead, conversion rates, and revenue by channel
- Present findings in a clean, readable format for leadership review
Marketing Administration
- Maintain organized marketing files, assets, and campaign records
- Support leadership with ad hoc marketing tasks, research, and special projects
- Coordinate with external vendors and media partners as needed
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in Marketing, Communications, Business, Digital Media, or a related field
- A passion for digital marketing, social media, and creative content
- Basic familiarity with Canva, Adobe, Video editing and/or other content creation tools
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to write for a local audience
- Understanding of content needs for different channels (FB vs. YouTube)
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks independently
- A self-starter who takes initiative and is eager to learn
- Familiarity with platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Google Business is a plus
- Prior coursework or projects in marketing or social media are a plus
