Social Media Fan Account Manager

Barely is a Brooklyn-based music marketing company built for independent artists. Part of what we do is run stan accounts, dedicated fan accounts on TikTok that champion an artist the way a real fan would. We're hiring people who live in that world to run a handful of these accounts by hand and make them feel like exactly what they are: someone who genuinely loves the music.

This is not a bot job and it is not a posting-only job. The whole point is that a real person with real taste is behind each account.

What you'll do:

• Engage like a real fan across your assigned accounts: scrolling, watching, liking, saving, following the right accounts, and leaving comments that sound like a person and not a template
• Post and lightly edit fan edits for the artists you cover
• Find the corners of TikTok where each artist's audience already lives, and show up there
• Keep simple notes on what's working so we can learn and adjust

The rhythm is a few short sessions spread through the day rather than one long block. The work starts at one or two accounts and grows as you find your footing, topping out around six so the accounts always get real attention.

What we're looking for:

• Genuine fluency in TikTok and in stan and fandom culture, not as a marketer studying it, but as someone who's actually in it
• Taste: you can tell an edit that hits from clips over a trending sound
• Reliability and honesty about your time. A short, real session beats a padded one
• Based in Brooklyn or Manhattan (the accounts are tied to a real place)
• Bonus: you've run a fan, stan, or edit account before, or you make edits yourself

Marketing experience is welcome but not required. What matters is cultural fluency, a good eye, and follow-through.

Details:

• Part-time, roughly 15 to 20 hours a week to start, spread across the day, growing over time
• Fully remote. We provide the phone you run the accounts on
• $18 to $20 an hour, plus monthly performance bonuses per account when your accounts hit their goals
• A real path into Barely: this can grow into a full-time role, and you'd get free access to our recording studio, Barely Sessions, between bookings
