Dance & Theater Teaching Artist

Blue Pearl Theatrics is seeking an energetic, passionate, and reliable Dance & Theater Instructor to join our youth performing arts program.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a new generation of young performers while working alongside a professional theater company producing fully staged productions.

Position: Dance & Theater Instructor

Location: Bronx River Art Center – Bronx, NY

Compensation: $25 per hour

Schedule: Fridays, 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Program Dates: Immediate start through September 4, 2026

About the Program

Blue Pearl Theatrics offers an intensive youth performing arts program for students ages 7–14. Students rehearse for fully staged theatrical productions while developing skills in acting, movement, ensemble performance, confidence, and stagecraft.

The instructor will work collaboratively with the Artistic Director to prepare students for upcoming performances of Cinderella and Brown Gold.

Responsibilities

Lead engaging dance and movement instruction for young performers.

Teach choreography for musical theatre productions.

Assist with acting exercises, ensemble-building activities, and rehearsals.

Help students develop confidence, stage presence, and performance technique.

Support classroom management while maintaining a positive, encouraging environment.

Collaborate with the Artistic Director to prepare students for performance.

Qualifications

Some college coursework preferred.

Experience teaching dance, musical theatre, drama, or performing arts to children preferred.

Strong communication and classroom management skills.

Reliable, professional, energetic, and positive.

Background in dance, musical theatre, acting, and/or performing arts education is a plus.
