Music Producer and Video Editor (Music Videos & Tech Art)

The Company: ALLY Entertainment is a Chicago-based firm seeking a talented Music Producer & Video Editor to produce and edit dynamic multimedia content for social media. This role is open to local Chicago candidates (Hybrid) or highly skilled national candidates (100% Remote).

The Project: We have created amazing light sculptures and illuminated wearable tech suits for Chicago-based music artists. These artists will be collaborating with other musicians from around the world to generate highly engaging, co-produced music videos for social media.

  • If you are local (Chicago): You will act as a stage tech and videographer, capturing live performances featuring these tech-art elements both at our Lincoln Park studio and on-site at live gigs throughout Chicago (with potential travel for events elsewhere).
  • If you are remote: Our studio team will provide you with high-quality, multi-cam raw footage of the performances.
  • For all candidates: Your core objective is to produce and master the collaborative audio tracks via your DAW, and then flawlessly cross-edit and sync the in-studio/live footage with remote video submissions.

What You Will Do:

  • Music Production & Audio Engineering (All Candidates): Utilize your preferred DAW (Ableton, Logic, Pro Tools, etc.) to mix multiple raw music sources from local and remote collaborating artists. You will be responsible for balancing, EQing, and mastering the final composite audio track.
  • A/V Syncing & Editing (All Candidates): Blend our live footage with remote video submissions to create compelling short-form (Reels/TikTok) and long-form music videos. Flawlessly sync your mastered DAW source music with the final video timeline.
  • Studio & Live Production Support (Chicago Candidates Only): Film high-quality, dynamic performance sessions at our Lincoln Park studio, and provide essential on-set A/V capture, stage tech, and lighting support for live gigs in Chicago and beyond.
  • Bonus Opportunity: If you are also a songwriter, performer, or music producer who creates original beats/tracks, there will be opportunities to collaborate on original music and benefit directly from viral promotions.

Timing and Frequency: Filming starts in July. The workload will build up to multiple sessions per week. For remote candidates, the bulk of the hours will be dedicated purely to your DAW and video editing workflow on your own schedule. For local candidates, hours will be a mix of editing and dynamic, on-site event production.

Compensation: $20 per hour. Additional forms of compensation are available commensurate with your contributions to the original music.

Requirements: * Demonstrated skill and experience in both music production and video editing.

  • Proficiency with a major DAW (Ableton, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, FL Studio, etc.) for mixing and mastering.
  • Mandatory: You must provide a link to your portfolio showcasing both music video-style footage you have edited AND examples of audio tracks you have produced or mixed.
