PAY RATE: $15/Hour
TOTAL INTERNSHIP HOURS: 360
SUMMARY: The Athletics Administration Intern position will assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating youth & adult sport leagues. Intern will assist with league administration, participant registration, referee scheduling, jersey administration, practice coordination, and game day activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide inventory control and distribution management for league equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
- Assist with gym and event site set-up.
- Assist in the design process and inventory of uniforms and league promotional items.
- Publicizes, markets, and promotes leagues using a variety of media sources; oversees the distribution and/or dissemination of promotional materials.
- Proactively contact and respond to teams, coaches, and participants regarding league details and registrations. This communication entails emails and phone calls.
- Represents the department with the public and outside groups, organizations, and agencies; responds to a wide variety of questions, comments, and/or concerns; resolves related complaints.
- Prepares and maintains a variety of records and/or reports related to leagues, including financial reports that summarize and/or outline incoming and outgoing funds and league plans.
- Creates staff and league schedules.
- Provides customer service to the public, which includes handling cash, answering telephones, reconciling the cash register and receipts, registering participants for leagues.
- Participates in/on a variety of meetings and/or other related groups to receive and convey information.
- Monitors league players, coaches, and fans utilizing recreation facilities. Identifies and resolves potentially hazardous situations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of recreational programming and operations in assigned area of responsibility;
- Knowledge of modern office equipment;
- Knowledge of program marketing theories, principles, and practices;
- Knowledge of community demographics;
- Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, codes, regulations, policies, rules, and regulations.
- Skilled in exercising good judgment, flexibility, creativity, and sensitivity in response to changing situations;
- Skilled in overseeing recreation league sites and equipment;
- Skilled in preparing and maintaining records and reports;
- Skilled in interpreting and explaining policies and procedures;

- Skilled in communicating effectively with a variety of individuals;
- Skilled in working as a team with other professionals
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently enrolled in, or graduated from, a university or community college.
- Maintaining a 2.5 GPA or better

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Frequent reaching, sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking, talking, seeing, hearing, and manual dexterity.
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Work is typically performed in a standard office environment. Depending on area of assignment, may occasionally work outdoor in outdoor environments, with potential exposure to adverse weather conditions.
