The Position: The Communications and Marketing Coordinator will help the Communications and Marketing Manager identify, conceptualize, create, and execute digital media campaigns. The coordinator will help LAFLA boost its online engagement, raise its visibility, elevate its reputation, and connect more community members with LAFLA’s services and resources. Therefore, this position requires excellent visual storytelling abilities and strong project management skills with an emphasis on digital communications.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•
BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in communications, marketing, digital media, public relations, or a related field.
•
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including strong copywriting, editing, and proofreading abilities.
•
Experience creating and managing content for social media, websites, email marketing, and other digital communications platforms.
•
Proficiency with major social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn) and experience using analytics and management tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite) to monitor engagement and evaluate campaign performance.
•
Experience with graphic design, photography, and video production/editing, including proficiency with creative software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
•
Experience with content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
•
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
•
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.
•
Experience supporting nonprofit communications, marketing, fundraising, or advocacy campaigns is preferred.
•
Bilingual in a language other than English preferred.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
•
Assists with the development and execution of communications campaigns across digital platforms.
•
Coordinates, creates, and distributes multimedia content for social media, website, email, and other communications channels.
•
Assists in designing marketing and communications materials, including flyers, presentations, event signage, and digital graphics.
•
Assists in capturing and editing photos and videos for digital and print communications.
•
Assists with graphic design and multimedia content creation.
•
Maintains editorial calendars for various digital platforms.
•
Tracks and analyzes engagement across digital platforms and recommends strategies to improve reach and impact.
•
Monitors social media channels, responds to community engagement as appropriate, and helps cultivate the organization’s online presence.
•
Updates website content in coordination with internal teams.
•
Fulfills requests for marketing materials (including but not limited to fliers, presentations, event signage).
•
Provides communications support for events, including capturing live photo and video
•
Assists in developing communications and marketing materials for the Access to Justice Gala.
•
Works collaboratively with other teams on fundraising, outreach, and other communications projects.
•
Other duties as assigned.

SUSTAINABLE HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE – LAFLA has recently adopted a sustainable schedule whereby employees get several Fridays off during the year. Depending on job classifications, some LAFLA staff are working on a manager approved hybrid work schedule, with the ability to work remotely up to half the week, if preferred, after the probationary period. The successful candidate must be local and willing to work from the assigned LAFLA location.
