WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As a Biomedical Maintenance Equipment Specialist, you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:
- Determining, implementing, scheduling, and directing preventive maintenance procedures for all SNS medical equipment and maintenance-significant devices, ensuring equipment is operational, safe, and properly configured to meet healthcare standards.
- Overseeing and performing incoming inspection, acceptance, and testing for all medical equipment and ensuring adequate documentation for preventive maintenance, safety checks, calibration checks, and repair services.
- Serving as a member of the technical review panel for biomedical equipment acquisition, evaluating and selecting biomedical equipment, developing equipment specifications, and performing technical assessments of vendor proposals.
- Developing and providing technical training to equipment users and staff, identifies optimum storage requirements, and ensuring a constant state of readiness and rapid deployability of medical assets.
Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year of specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:
- Managing maintenance programs for biomedical equipment to ensure operational readiness and compliance with healthcare standards;
- Performing inspections, testing, calibration, and troubleshooting of medical equipment to support safe patient care;
- Monitoring contractor performance, reviewing service documentation, and ensuring compliance with maintenance requirements; and
- Developing equipment procedures, delivering user training, and maintaining readiness of deployable medical assets.
