Meek, a pioneering leader and the first African American woman elected to represent South Florida in the United States Congress. Position Overview
The Research & Impact Intern will support research, monitoring, evaluation, and data analysis efforts across the Carrie Meek Foundation's community initiatives, with a primary focus on the OVW Men to Men Program and the Supporting Safer Communities Initiative. The intern will assist in measuring program outcomes, analyzing participant data, and developing reports that demonstrate community impact while supporting continuous program improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on violence prevention, community engagement, and evidence-based intervention models.
- Support data collection, organization, and quality assurance.
- Assist in analyzing participant surveys and evaluation data.
- Help develop dashboards and data visualizations to track program outputs and outcomes.
- Draft research summaries, impact reports, and presentations for internal leadership and grant reporting.
- Organize documentation to support Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) performance measures and grant compliance.
- Assist with literature reviews and benchmarking of nonprofit best practices.
- Support monitoring and evaluation activities for Foundation programs.
- Maintain confidential program data in accordance with organizational policies.
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Public Health, Public Policy, Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Statistics, Data Analytics, Political Science, Social Work, Sustainability Policy, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
- Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Share Point or Google Sheets; familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) is a plus.
- Ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative data.
- Strong written communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines independently.
