Development and Partnerships Internship

As WEA's Development & Partnerships Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, philanthropy, and partnership development while working with a small, women-led organization with a global reach.
You'll learn how mission-driven organizations secure philanthropic support, build relationships with donors and partners, and transform bold ideas into funded programs that create lasting impact.
This internship is ideal for students and emerging professionals interested in careers in nonprofit leadership, philanthropy, social entrepreneurship, international development, public policy, corporate social responsibility, or impact investing.

You May:
- Conduct prospect research to identify potential individual, foundation, and corporate partners.
- Research funding opportunities aligned with WEA's mission and strategic priorities.
- Assist with grant proposal development, grant reporting, and funder communications.
- Support donor stewardship through personalized communications and engagement activities.
- Help develop fundraising campaigns and donor outreach initiatives.
- Maintain donor records and fundraising data.
- Support donor cultivation and fundraising events, including planning, logistics, communications, and follow-up.
- Participate in strategy discussions and learn how fundraising decisions support organizational growth and long-term impact.

Mentorship & Learning
Interns will receive mentorship from WEA's Development team and gain exposure to nonprofit leadership, fundraising strategy, and career pathways in the social impact sector.
Interns will have opportunities to engage with staff across departments and gain a deeper understanding of how an international nonprofit operates.
Commitment
This internship is expected to last at least four months. We love it when great interns want to stay longer, so please let us know if you are interested in an extended opportunity.
The intern should be available 12–16 hours per week. This position is remote, and the organization works in Pacific Time.
Compensation
- $2,000 stipend for a four-month internship
- Academic credit available
- Open to undergraduate students, graduate students, and emerging professionals
- Applicants do not need to be currently enrolled in school
