Intern Job Description

PKPR is a boutique PR agency delivering big results with bespoke strategy and service. Rooted in New York's media landscape, we've established brands like Sourhouse and QC New York while elevating Fiverr and Pacific Forest Trust to national prominence. We foster collaboration where every team member contributes ideas that drive client success through strategic thinking and authentic relationship-building.

If you are passionate about the news, have your finger on the pulse of pop culture and current events, and are looking for a hands-on and fulfilling opportunity to use your creativity to drive positive change, then this is a job for you.

We are seeking an Intern to provide support on a diverse mix of nonprofit, tech, books, arts, and lifestyle accounts. This is a paid hybrid internship. The ideal candidate will be comfortable commuting to our Financial District office on Wednesdays and available to work a minimum of 24 hours per week, depending on workload. Candidates should enjoy collaborating with a small, close-knit team and be eager to gain hands-on experience in public relations by working directly with our staff. Start date: August 11, 2026. The length of the internship is flexible.

The ideal candidate is someone who has:

  • A strong interest in nonprofits, legal services, environmental conservation, technology platforms, and media/creative industries
  • On top of the latest current events, pop culture, and internet and social media trends—and eager to contribute ideas on how our clients can capitalize on them
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent writing, research, and organizational skills
  • Experience with Canva, WordPress, Muckrack, and Google Suite is strongly preferred

Responsibilities will include:

  • Researching topics and issues related to client accounts
  • Researching journalists and creating media lists
  • Assist with identifying influencers and brand partners for relevant clients
  • Monitoring press coverage for clients and creating clippings
  • Assist with managing and drafting content for PKPR social media and website
  • Assisting in press events, monthly reportings, and business proposals

Candidate requirements:

  • A recent graduate with a degree in PR, communications, journalism, or a related field
