Role Overview
Apsis Solutions is seeking a Business Development Specialist Intern (Occasional WFO) to support our growth and client acquisition efforts. This internship is ideal for a student or recent graduate interested in healthcare consulting, business development, sales strategy, healthcare technology, procurement, and relationship management.
The intern will gain hands-on experience in market research, lead generation, client outreach, supplier diversity initiatives, healthcare procurement, and strategic business development within the healthcare IT industry.
This is an in-office internship position requiring 20–30 hours per week, with occasional work-from-home hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Research hospitals, health systems, healthcare organizations, and potential business opportunities to increase business growth.
- Identify and qualify prospective clients, vendor partnerships, and healthcare procurement opportunities.
- Assist with lead generation efforts through LinkedIn, industry databases, conferences, and professional networks.
- Support outreach campaigns through email, LinkedIn, phone calls, and marketing initiatives.
- Help prepare capability statements, proposal materials, presentations, and business development collateral.
- Assist with vendor registrations, supplier diversity applications, and healthcare procurement processes.
- Maintain and update CRM systems with prospect, client, and opportunity data.
- Conduct market and competitor research to identify industry trends and strategic opportunities.
- Support federal, state, and healthcare provider contracting initiatives, including opportunity tracking and proposal coordination.
- Prepare weekly reports on sales pipeline activity, outreach efforts, and business development progress.
- Collaborate with leadership and supervisors on strategic growth initiatives and client relationship development.
Qualifications
- Current student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, Communications, Information Technology, Client Acquisition, or a related field.
- Strong interest in business development, healthcare consulting, healthcare technology, sales, or strategic partnerships.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Comfortable conducting research and engaging with professionals through LinkedIn, email, and phone outreach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM platforms is desirable.
- Self-motivated, professional, and eager to participate in team-led and independent initiatives.
