About us

Founded in 2024 as part of the CodeSpeak Foundation, Quest Craft is a nonprofit organization that partners with schools, libraries, and community organizations to deliver game-based learning experiences for kids. Research shows that collaborative storytelling games foster youth creativity, collaboration, and social-emotional growth, and we're building tools that help educators bring that storytelling magic into classrooms and libraries. Quest Craft’s age-appropriate adventures are set in diverse cultural contexts aligned to classroom academic standards.  https://www.questcraftstudio.com

The role

We're looking for an AI intern to help build a Quest Craft AI Co-Pilot — a first-of-its-kind tool designed to help educators facilitate tabletop role-playing games, so they become confident Game Masters. Whether a teacher has never rolled a die in their life or is a seasoned Game Master, the AI Co-Pilot will meet them where they are. It will offer backend support throughout the game cycle so that Game Masters can focus less on logistics and more on creating human-centered, collaborative experiences for youth.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role at the intersection of AI, education, and game design. You'll work directly with our content and development teams to shape a tool that could change how educators can scale play-based learning.

Assigned tasks

  • Design, engineer, and iterate on custom GPTs and AI-powered tools that form the backbone of the Co-Pilot experience, such as real-time suggestions, logistics tracking, and point monitoring during game sessions
  • Partner with content, development, and senior teams to gather requirements, map gamecycle workflows, and define clear deliverables
  • Test the tool with educators and iterate based on qualitative and quantitative feedback
  • Communicate AI strategy, progress, and outcomes across teams to ensure alignment and effectiveness
  • Ensure all levels of the project are guided by responsible AI best practices

Requirements

  • Experience building or customizing GPTs, AI Assistants, or agent-based workflows, including chat completions, function calling, and system prompt design
  • Basic understanding of model evaluation and benchmarking to measure AI tool performance
  • Strong grasp of prompt design patterns such as chain-of-thought, few-shot prompting, structured outputs, and role-based prompting
  • Excellent cross-functional communication, including with non-technical teams
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Bonus if you have:

  • Hands-on experience with AI software, including Cursor and Lovable
  • Interest in education, game design, or youth development
  • Experience or interest as a player or Game Master for tabletop role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons.
  • Familiarity with UX or human-centered AI design, especially for non-technical end users like educators
