Marketing and Event Programming Intern
Position Summary
Internera is seeking a creative, organized, and driven Marketing & Event Programming Intern to help develop and execute engaging events and experiences across client accounts and internal projects.
This role is ideal for students interested in event planning, hospitality, marketing, community engagement, business operations, or experiential marketing. Interns will gain hands-on experience turning ideas into real events while working with leadership, local businesses, sponsors, and community partners.
You’ll help bring concepts to life—from brainstorming and planning to promotion and execution—while gaining exposure to real-world event operations and marketing strategy.
What You’ll Do
• Brainstorm and develop event concepts for clients and internal initiatives
• Support planning and execution of public, private, promotional, and community-based events
• Coordinate event logistics including scheduling, materials, timelines, and communication
• Research sponsorship, partnership, and collaboration opportunities
• Assist with event marketing and promotion through social media and outreach
• Work with local businesses, organizations, and community partners when applicable
• Support event-day setup, execution, and follow-up
• Track event outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement
• Present ideas and recommendations to leadership and assist with implementation
What We’re Looking For
• Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Event Management, Hospitality, Communications, Business, Public Relations, or a related field
• Interest in event planning, experiential marketing, hospitality, or community engagement
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Comfortable communicating professionally with team members and external partners
• Creative problem-solving and willingness to take initiative
• Ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced environments
• Experience with social media promotion is helpful but not required
• Hospitality, customer service, or event experience is a plus but not required

Position Details
Schedule: Part-Time (Approx. 10 hours/week)
Compensation: $12 per hour
Expected Start Date: Flexible

Physical Expectations
This role includes a mix of planning and event execution. Interns should be comfortable standing for periods of time, moving event materials, working in active environments, and occasionally supporting evening or weekend events.
