Human Resources Intern
Summer Intern – Human Resources & Payroll Support
Hunter Foundry Machinery Corporation is seeking a Summer Intern to join our team in Schaumburg, IL in the summer 2026. This position will support our Human Resources team with payroll administration, employee records, recruiting support, compliance documentation, and other administrative HR projects.
This is a great opportunity for someone interested in gaining hands-on experience in human resources, payroll, business administration, and employee support within a manufacturing environment.
What your day will look like:
Assisting with payroll preparation and review, including timesheets, attendance records, PTO entries, and missing punch follow-up
Helping maintain employee information and records in Paylocity and other HR systems
Supporting payroll-related administrative tasks under the direction of the HR team
Organizing and maintaining employee files, HR documents, and confidential records
Assisting with onboarding paperwork and new hire documentation
Supporting recruiting efforts, including job postings, candidate communication, interview scheduling, and applicant tracking
Helping maintain training records, compliance files, and safety-related documentation
Assisting with 401(k), benefits, and employee communication tracking
Preparing and updating HR spreadsheets, employee lists, reports, and organizational information
Helping with administrative tasks related to OSHA compliance, good business standing requirements, and internal HR processes
Supporting employee events, announcements, and general office administration as needed
Working with the HR, payroll, and management teams to ensure records are accurate and organized
What we are looking for:
Interest in human resources, payroll, business administration, or employee support
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
Clear communication skills
Dependable, self-motivated, and willing to learn
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Interest in working in a manufacturing or industrial business environment
Requirements:
All applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED. Current college students or recent graduates with an interest in human resources, business administration, accounting, payroll, communications, management, or a related field are encouraged to apply.
Prior office, administrative, customer service, or payroll-related experience is helpful but not required.
