Rancho Tierra Madre is an 80-acre working ranch on the Gaviota Coast, about 40 minutes north of Santa Barbara, set within Refugio Canyon and the historic lands of the original Rancho de Nuestra Señora del Refugio. The property is being developed into a design-forward hospitality and agriculture destination — but for now, it's a quiet working ranch with chickens, ranch dogs, and ocean views.
We're looking for a content creator to help us tell that story across Instagram and TikTok as it unfolds — documenting the build, the land, the backstory, the animals, and the people behind it, and quietly building an audience that will be there when the ranch opens its gates.
About the role
This is an ongoing, part-time role — about one post per week across Instagram and TikTok. You'll spend 1–2 shoot days per month on the property (roughly 6-8 hours of shooting total), plus editing, caption writing, and coordinating with our marketing team to align with the brand's broader strategy and messaging priorities. Schedule is flexible.
The role will evolve as the ranch grows, but the current scope includes:
- 1–2 monthly shoot days on the ranch capturing behind-the-scenes of the build, owner and animal profiles, seasonal land moments, and stories from daily life
- Editing photos and short-form video for Instagram and TikTok
- Writing captions aligned with RTM's brand voice and tone
- Coordinating with the marketing team on posting cadence, priorities, and the monthly content calendar
- Bringing a point of view — we're open to your ideas for what's worth capturing
Who you are
- A student with a strong eye and creative storytelling ability
- Comfortable shooting and editing for Instagram and TikTok, with an understanding of what performs in short-form formats
- Strong caption writing skills and the ability to adapt to a defined brand voice
- Reliable, organized, and able to deliver on a weekly posting schedule
- Comfortable around animals (dogs, cats, chickens)
- Has a reliable vehicle
- Bonus: experience with brand or hospitality social accounts, or a personal account that shows your taste
Compensation & logistics
- $500/month stipend (approx $25-$30/hr) for ongoing content production and coordination
- Schedule is flexible — coordinated in advance with ranch owner and marketing team
- Open invitation to help yourself to fresh eggs and produce from the garden on shoot days
- Start date: as soon as possible, with an ongoing monthly engagement
