Part-Time | Reports to House Manager

Who We Are

BatonBaton is the first-ever membership club for early teens focused on self-expression, emotional wellbeing, creativity and connection. 

Designed for ages 11-14, BatonBaton is a place for kids to retreat after school to socialize, create, recharge, and build confidence through wellness experiences, creative labs, and community-driven programming featuring the creators and voices they already follow.

Opening in Sherman Oaks Fall 2026, BatonBaton combines hospitality, wellness, and community into an entirely new kind of after-school experience.

The Role

The Assistant House Manager helps bring the BatonBaton experience to life each day.

Working closely with the House Manager, this role serves as a highly visible presence throughout the house, helping ensure members, families, staff, practitioners, and guests experience a space that feels welcoming, organized, safe, and thoughtfully operated.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being on the floor, building relationships, solving problems in real time, and creating memorable experiences through exceptional hospitality and attention to detail.

The Assistant House Manager helps set the tone of the house while supporting daily operations, staff coordination, and member experience.

Your Scope 

Member Experience & Community

  • Serve as a welcoming and visible presence throughout the house
  • Build positive relationships with members and families
  • Support member onboarding, tours, and orientation experiences
  • Help create an environment where members feel comfortable, included, and connected
  • Assist with member questions, concerns, and day-to-day needs
  • Support community-building moments, traditions, and special experiences throughout the year

Daily Operations

  • Support daily operation of the house during operating hours
  • Ensure member-facing spaces remain clean, organized, stocked, and ready for use
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures
  • Help maintain operational checklists, logs, and daily workflows
  • Support inventory management, supply organization, and facility readiness
  • Coordinate room transitions and resets throughout the day

Staff & Shift Leadership

  • Provide leadership and support to front-line staff during shifts
  • Help coordinate daily assignments and operational priorities
  • Support onboarding and training of new team members
  • Assist with staff communication and shift coverage
  • Reinforce BatonBaton standards of hospitality, professionalism, and care
  • Escalate operational issues to the House Manager when appropriate
  • Serve as the house lead during Sunday shifts and final 2 hours of weekday shifts

Programming & Events Support

  • Help prepare spaces for classes, workshops, events, and special programming
  • Support practitioner and guest hospitality while on site
  • Assist with community events, member activations, and special experiences
  • Ensure programming spaces remain prepared, functional, and welcoming

Safety & House Standards

  • Support implementation of all safety procedures and operational protocols
  • Help maintain incident logs and operational documentation
  • Ensure house policies are consistently followed
  • Monitor the house environment and proactively address issues as they arise
  • Support emergency preparedness and operational readiness efforts

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-4 years of experience in hospitality, membership clubs, teaching environments, wellness, retail, community management, youth programming, or related environments
  • Experience working in customer-facing or member-facing roles
  • Experience supervising staff or leading shifts is a plus
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience working with kids and families is a plus

Compensation & Schedule

  • Part-time, exempt position
  • Based on-site in Sherman Oaks, CA
  • This role requires availability on weekday afternoons/evenings and Sundays
  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience

Hiring Timeline

We are currently accepting applications and will review candidates on a rolling basis until we find the right fit.

Our goal is to hire this role in late July or early August, allowing time for onboarding and training alongside the House Manager prior to launch.

BatonBaton is currently targeting a late Summer / early Fall 2026 opening, and this role will help bring the member experience, community, and daily operations of the house to life from day one.
