Account Coordinator
Parasol (www.parasolmarketing.com), is a New York City-based boutique public relations and brand marketing firm specializing in the luxury lifestyle and hospitality industry. We have an exciting opening for an Account Coordinator to join the team.
We are seeking an intelligent, enthusiastic and hard-working problem solver with excellent communication and organization skills, and a strong attention to detail. Applicants must be proactive, independent workers, have the ability to multitask, prioritize and organize larger projects and excel under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should be strategic self-starters who can work with a collaborative team, posses impeccable writing skills and have an interest in travel, food, wine and luxury lifestyle public relations. We are passionate about what we do and in providing value to our clients; achieving meaningful results is our priority.
Public relations agency experience in luxury hospitality, food and wine are strongly desired.
Key Job Responsibilities and Tasks include:
- Assist Account Executives in the daily execution of tasks
- Provide administrative support on client accounts
- Monitor client press coverage and produce clip reports
- Produce monthly and annual client activity and clip reports
- Prepare weekly client meeting agendas and action items
- Create and maintain media lists and editorial calendars
- Conduct ongoing research to discover new national and regional media outlets, columns, editors and freelance journalists
- Research and develop creative pitch angles, story ideas and brand marketing partnerships
- Write, copy edit and distribute press materials, press releases, pitch letters, media mailers and media alerts, conducting follow up to encourage media coverage
- Assist with planning, coordination and execution of media/VIP events, including virtual tastings, virtual press conferences, in-person lunches, dinners and cocktail parties, and assist in tracking media attendance and follow up
- Assist Account Executives in executing social media strategy, manage social content schedules and daily publishing
- Direct and indirect client interaction
- Maintain office organization (virtually and/or in person) and conduct routine administration tasks
Requirements:
- 1 –2 years PR Agency or in-house experience
- Strong interest in public relations and/or brand marketing
- Proficiency in MAC/Apple computer systems and software
- Proficiency with Zoom, Microsoft Teams and other virtual communication tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Social media management skills and an intimate knowledge of Instagram, Twitter and Facebook business strategy
- Strong attention to detail
- Team-oriented, can-do attitude
- Experience with Cision and other PR programs is a plus
