About PrevHealth

PrevHealth is a patient-centric, tech-enabled primary care clinic serving communities across Virginia and Pennsylvania. Our Burke, VA clinic combines community-focused care with smart technology — including remote patient monitoring and a patient portal and mobile app — to deliver coordinated, preventive primary care.

Role Overview

We are seeking a confident, dependable, and people-oriented Medical & Front Desk Assistant who can deliver outstanding patient care while maintaining a professional and welcoming front-office presence. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career candidate to build hands-on experience in a supportive clinic. We provide training and mentorship, and we value a positive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn. Experienced candidates are also welcome to apply. Spanish fluency or proficiency is a strong plus, as it enhances our ability to serve a diverse patient population.

Front Desk & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing an excellent first impression of the clinic.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments, verify insurance, and manage patient intake efficiently.
  • Handle phone calls and patient inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
  • Collect co-pays, assist with billing documentation, and support daily operational flow.
  • Coordinate between clinical and administrative teams to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Assist the Nurse Practitioner and clinical team during patient assessments, examinations, and procedures.
  • Perform and document patient vital signs, EKGs, vaccinations, and venipuncture (blood draws).
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms and clinical equipment for cleanliness and readiness.
  • Manage, label, and process laboratory specimens accurately.
  • Support patient education and help patients understand treatment plans and follow-up steps.
  • Assist with remote patient monitoring (RPM) device setup and patient onboarding to our portal and app (training provided).
  • Maintain accurate, timely entries in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Ensure compliance with clinic protocols, infection control, and HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA via AAMA) required; equivalents accepted (CCMA via NHA, RMA via AMT). Certification-eligible recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required (or obtained before start date).
  • Phlebotomy certification or training a plus.
  • Clinical experience welcome but not required — recent graduates and entry-level candidates with a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
  • Comfortable with technology; able to learn EMR systems and digital tools quickly.
  • Spanish-speaking skills strongly preferred.

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly compensation within the posted range.
  • Hands-on training, mentorship, and a clear path to grow your clinical skills.
  • Opportunities for ongoing professional development and certification support.
  • A supportive, collaborative, team-oriented culture focused on patient experience.

Schedule

Full-time, with a regular weekday schedule.
