We pair trusted journalism with data-driven intelligence and AI, curated newsletters and premier live events to inform, engage and elevate the C-suite executives, physician leaders and industry influencers shaping the future of care delivery.

Position Summary

We are looking for a tenacious, entrepreneurial journalist to join our dynamic editorial team. This role is ideal for someone eager to become the CEO of their niche — owning a content vertical and growing its digital and live event presence.

This journalist will be a visible brand ambassador within the healthcare community, interviewing executives, crafting high-impact content, building executive-focused events and driving growth. In this role, AI is a force multiplier for reporting, audience development and event programming. The role is highly autonomous and suited for a candidate motivated by influence, innovation and measurable success.
 

Key Responsibilities

Content Development & Reporting

  • Urgently cover breaking news and mine transcripts, filings, earnings calls and documents to inform our audience of big industry developments
  • Build deep relationships with executives and conduct insightful interviews that translate into articles, podcasts and event sessions
  • Draft and iterate with AI while holding a high bar for accuracy and rigorous editorial judgement
  • Translate complex healthcare business and policy concepts into accessible, engaging narratives
  • Elevate unique trends and executive viewpoints, connecting the dots to sharpen Becker’s digital strategy

Newsletter Leadership

  • Curate and grow high-performing digital newsletters tailored to executive audiences.
  • Use AI and newsletter data to improve performance and identify what drives audience engagement at scale
  • Identify and expand niche audiences aligned with Becker’s core readership

Event Strategy & Collaboration

  • Use editorial expertise while working with the events team to help identify topics, themes, and speakers for Becker’s events.
  • Leverage executive relationships and AI to source new talent and ideas that enhance the value of our platform.
  • Moderate podcasts, advisory calls and panel discussions at live and virtual events to support editorial visibility.

Strategic Ownership & Growth

  • Own a content beat with entrepreneurial rigor — be accountable for audience growth, engagement, and authority.
  • Use both quantitative data (analytics, performance metrics) and qualitative feedback (executive insights, reader responses) to refine your editorial and event strategy.
  • Build repeatable, AI-enabled workflows that grow your audience and engagement month over month.
  • Innovate and collaborate with your team, bringing new AI applications back to sharpen everyone’s impact.
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1-2 years of journalism experience or internships.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Willingness to innovate and adopt AI quickly into all aspects of your work.
  • Experience interviewing high-level executives and working with professional stakeholders.
  • Strong editorial judgement, research and storytelling skills.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with a drive to build and lead.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize deadlines, and balance long-term projects with short turnaround work.
