Hope & Home Childcare Program Staff
Pay: $19.29 per hour (Denver minimum wage)
Location – Varies for each group – Greater Denver area, including but not limited to Adams, Arapahoe, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, and Jefferson counties
Job Description:
This position is a very part-time childcare staff position that provides a safe, fun, and interactive environment for kids and teens during evening programs. Hope & Home provides these childcare programs for foster families -- helping ensure children in foster care as well as the biological or adopted kids of foster parents have an incredible time while the foster parents attend support group on-site.
We are seeking amazing people who genuinely enjoy working with kids and teens, people who bring joy and enthusiasm to their interactions with others, and people who want to make a difference in the lives of children in foster care.
This role is a fantastic addition to another work or school commitment. Hours are in the evenings Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30pm-8:45pm, with opportunities for additional hours helping with special events. Candidates are welcome to opt into two or more evenings per week, based on their availability.
Children and teens in foster care need consistency and this position is a wonderful way to help kids while learning more about the diverse and ever-changing world of foster care. Responsibilities Include:
- Provide a safe and fun environment for children ages 1-18
- Engage in evening activities for children in accordance with program philosophy
- Conduct all activities in a positive and professional manner
- Follow all Hope & Home policies and procedures
- Supervise activities of all children in assigned age group
- Participate and engage children with games, toys, and other approved activities
- Report any incidents to supervisor
- Maintain required paperwork and records
- Responsible for set up before group and general cleaning duties after group each night
- Assist as needed at other scheduled events throughout the year
Qualifications:
- Ability to work various Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings 5:30-8:45pm
- Reliable transportation
- At least one year of experience working with children preferred
- Patience in working with children
- Able to work well on a team
- Flexible and able to adjust to change
- Holds themselves to high standards
- Willing to go the extra mile
- Energetic and friendly
- Must be able to pass background checks conducted pre-hire and throughout employment

Hope & Home is a licensed foster care agency, training, licensing, and actively supporting foster families all across Colorado. Children who have been abused or neglected are given a stable and nurturing family to live with until it’s safe to go home again, or — when that safety isn’t possible — a family to give them a “forever home” through adoption.
Certifications / Educational Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must complete CPR and First Aid training (upon hiring)
- Must complete Hope & Home orientation and training (upon hiring)
Physical Requirements:
Employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Full mobility is required.
