Communications Coordinator with Song CDC

Organization Mission and/or Goals: 

Sông Community Development Corporation (Sông CDC) was established in 2021 to further community development efforts post-Hurricane Katrina and subsequent disasters. Rooted in the Vietnamese experience, Sông CDC advances a bold strategy for cultural resilience and community self-determination through power-building and anti-displacement efforts that protect the right to remain, return, and thrive. 

Essential Functions of Position: 
• Manage and update Song CDC’s social media platforms with engaging and mission aligned content.  
• Create digital content, including graphics, videos, and posts Draft press releases, newsletters, and other communication materials.  
• Ensure all content aligns with Song CDC’s brand and messaging guidelines.  • Develop marketing strategies to enhance visibility and program engagement.  
• Build and maintain relationships with community partners and local media outlets
• Represent Song CDC at community events and outreach initiatives.  
• Amplify community voices and share stories through Song CDC’s communication channels. 
• Monitor, track, and analyze social media performance metrics.  
• Engage with followers and respond to messages and comments promptly.  
• Implement strategies to increase audience engagement and reach.  
• Work closely with team members to ensure seamless integration of communications across programs. Assist in planning and executing events and campaigns.  
• Maintain regular documentation of activities, progress, and impact.  
• Prepare a final report or presentation summarizing contributions, achievements, and insights from the term.
