Plumbing Drafter

Plumbing Drafter (MEP) – Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Job Overview

HDF Engineering Group is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Plumbing Drafter to join our growing MEP engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing plumbing construction documents, BIM models, and permit-ready drawings for residential, commercial, multifamily, healthcare, hospitality, and mixed-use developments throughout Florida.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced plumbing engineers and designers on a wide range of projects while developing your technical expertise in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed plumbing construction drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Develop and maintain BIM models for plumbing systems.
  • Produce domestic water, sanitary, storm drainage, natural gas, and plumbing riser diagrams.
  • Prepare fixture schedules, isometric drawings, equipment layouts, and construction details.
  • Coordinate plumbing systems with mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines.
  • Assist engineers and designers with plumbing calculations, design development, and permit-ready construction documents.
  • Review and incorporate project markups, revisions, and field comments.
  • Participate in project coordination meetings and internal quality control reviews.
  • Maintain organized project documentation and drawing revisions.

Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (required).
  • Experience preparing plumbing permit and construction documents.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans.
  • Knowledge of the Florida Plumbing Code, FBC, and industry standards is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Requirements

  • Fluent in English and Spanish (spoken and written).
  • Experience working in an MEP consulting environment is highly preferred.
  • Experience with multifamily, commercial, healthcare, and mixed-use projects is desirable.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and team-focused.
