Position Summary

Fidelity Memorial Group is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic Human Resources Intern to join our team in Garden City, GA. This internship offers an immersive, hands-on opportunity to learn the foundations of corporate human resources, employee lifecycle management, and talent acquisition operations.

In this role, you will play a key part in executing a critical strategic Onboarding Project, ensuring that our new hires experience a seamless, welcoming, and legally compliant transition into the company. You will work closely with our Director of HR, gaining exposure to recruitment, data analytics, HRIS systems, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Onboarding Project Support: Assist in auditing, optimizing, and executing our new hire onboarding framework. Help create and distribute welcome materials, coordinate orientation schedules, and track project milestones to improve overall employee retention and engagement.
  • New Hire Data Entry: Accurately input and maintain candidate and employee records within our HRIS/ATS system PayChex Flex.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality and data integrity across all personnel records.
  • Compliance & I-9 Processing: Support the HR team in reviewing, verifying, and tracking Form I-9 documents. Conduct periodic compliance audits of active and terminated employee files.
  • Recruiting Assistance: Assist in creation of a structured Title project, consisting of creation of Job Posting, Job Description for each title within the Cemetery and Funeral Home structure.  Assist with posting open positions, review incoming resumes, coordinate interview schedules, and maintain active communication with candidates throughout the hiring pipeline.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with general HR operations, including the preparation of orientation folders, HR reports, and internal event planning.
  • Qualifications & Skills
  • Current undergraduate/graduate student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills with an uncompromising eye for detail and data accuracy.
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professional maturity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a welcoming and professional demeanor.
  • Proficiency with Google platform and an aptitude for quickly learning new software/HRIS platforms.
  • Ability to commute or work on-site at our Garden City, GA location.
