Information Technology Specialist
As an Information Technology Specialist in the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, you will join a well-respected team responsible for the day-to-day operations and administration of IT systems. Typical duties include:
- Providing IT customer service and support in troubleshooting, recovering, and resolving recurring software/hardware problems.
- Managing accounts, network rights and access to systems and equipment.
- Installing, configuring, and upgrading commonly used hardware and software systems.
- Assisting in the configuration, installation, and maintenance of network systems including hubs, routers, switches, bridges, servers, and related hardware.
- Assisting in the configuration, installation, and maintenance of audio visual equipment including microphones, mixers, encoders, cameras, speakers and related hardware.
- Maintaining telecommunications systems using knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control and operation of telecommunications systems.
- Monitoring the functionality, security and integrity of internet services. Managing internet servers.
- Analyzing policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks and data.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
