About Us

Gwinnett Pediatric & Adult Eye Center is a growing private optometric practice serving children and adults throughout Gwinnett County. We specialize in pediatric eye care, myopia management, specialty contact lenses, and comprehensive vision services.

We are seeking a motivated and outgoing college student interested in healthcare, business development, marketing, communications, healthcare administration, public health, or sales to join our team as a Community Outreach & Business Development Intern.

This is a hands-on opportunity to work directly with practice leadership while gaining real-world experience in business growth, relationship management, healthcare operations, marketing, and community engagement.

Position Overview

The Community Outreach & Business Development Intern will help expand the practice's presence throughout the community by developing relationships with schools, pediatric offices, community organizations, and local businesses.

This role is ideal for a student interested in learning how businesses grow through strategic partnerships, community engagement, and patient acquisition.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with local schools, counselors, and school nurses
  • Assist with outreach to pediatricians and healthcare providers
  • Identify and engage community organizations, daycares, churches, and youth programs
  • Coordinate community events and health fairs
  • Assist with social media and community marketing initiatives
  • Track outreach activities and partnership opportunities
  • Develop referral and partnership reports
  • Represent the practice at community events
  • Support patient review and reputation management initiatives
  • Assist with special projects assigned by leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university
  • Majoring in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Management, or related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable speaking with community leaders and professionals
  • Self-motivated and organized
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Reliable transportation
