About ML8 Events

ML8 Events is one of the premier operators of recruiting showcases, invitation-only experiences, and tournaments in the sport of lacrosse.

Each year, thousands of athletes, families, prep school coaches, club directors, and college coaches attend ML8 Events across the country. Our portfolio includes some of the most respected events in the recruiting landscape, including the High School Summer National Championships (HSSNC), Main Stage, Backstage Pass, Future Phenoms, The Audition, Five Star Recruiting Experience, and the Sweetlax Summer Challenge.

With events currently operating in Maryland, Rhode Island, and Florida, ML8 Events has established itself as a trusted platform for player development, recruiting exposure, and meaningful connections between athletes and college programs.

As part of our continued growth, ML8 Events is investing in a dedicated media division that will become the storytelling arm of the company and a trusted source of recruiting content within the sport.

Position Overview

ML8 Events is seeking a Director of Media & Storytelling to build and lead our media platform from the ground up.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to create something that does not currently exist in the recruiting landscape.

While much of today’s recruiting coverage revolves around rankings and highlight clips, our vision is different. We want to create content that helps college coaches understand who players are as people, competitors, teammates, and future college athletes.

The ideal candidate is equal parts storyteller, journalist, content creator, interviewer, photographer, videographer, and brand builder.

This individual will travel to ML8 events throughout the year and serve as the face of our media operation, producing original content that provides meaningful value to athletes, families, and college coaches.

What We’re Building

We’re not looking to hire someone to run social media.

We’re building a media platform focused on the people behind the player.

Our vision is to create the premier storytelling platform in lacrosse, one that follows athletes from their first recruiting event through their college careers.

Rather than focusing solely on rankings and highlights, we want to tell the stories behind the players, showcase their development, and provide college coaches with meaningful insight into who they are both on and off the field.

The successful candidate will help shape the future of recruiting coverage by producing content that focuses on character, leadership, work ethic, personality, and the journey of becoming a college athlete.
