Job Summary:

The Human Resource Intern will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operation of the human resource department.  Ideal candidate will be attentive, thorough, and committed to maintaining strong attention to detail. 

 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Processes required paperwork for employee transfers, changes in job classification, salary increases and other related employment matters.
  • Performs audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Assists with New Hire Orientation
  • Has an attitude of continuous self-improvement.  Shows independent initiative to bring any process improvements to the table. 
  • Takes on additional projects as workload allows 

 

Skills and Requirements:

  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact and professionalism.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, or related software.
  • Ability to quickly learn human resource information system and similar computer applications.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage time efficiently, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Possess a team-oriented attitude.

Education and Experience:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor or Associate degree in Human Resources required
  • 1 - 3 years of related human resource experience/coursework

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
