Marketing Manager
Build creative systems and partnerships for a city focused design brand.
About Us
We are a product design company with a small team, focused on transit systems and cities. Our flagship product, Metroboard, is a walnut and aluminum art piece that shows live train movement through the city.
We are especially rooted in New York, where most of our community and customers are, but the work is about cities broadly. We focus on form through function and the curiosity, recognition, and wonder of seeing something familiar reframed.
We are in an early scaling phase with strong traction in New York and growing presence in other major cities, looking to build durable cultural and commercial systems around the brand, partnerships, and community.
Role overview
This is a hybrid brand strategy, growth, and partnerships role for someone who can operate with high autonomy inside an early-stage creative company.
You will help architect how the brand grows across social platforms, partnerships, paid media, email, retail, PR, and community initiatives. You should be equally comfortable thinking strategically about positioning and executing operationally to move projects forward.
This role is less about managing isolated or individual campaigns and more about building an interconnected communications and brand strategy around the brand.
We are looking for someone who is proactive, culturally aware, highly organized, and capable of creating structure without needing constant oversight.
What you will do
- You will help shape overall communications and marketing strategy across channels.
- You will oversee and coordinate launches, campaigns, and brand initiatives across social, email, SMS, partnerships, and web.
- You will manage paid advertising efforts across platforms and help improve performance through testing and iteration.
- You will identify and develop partnerships with creators, ambassadors, retailers, cultural organizations, and collaborators.
- You will source event opportunities, pop-ups, and community activations aligned with the brand.
- You will help optimize the digital experience and customer journey alongside the creative team.
- You will help develop email and SMS strategy, including newsletters, launch communications, and lifecycle marketing.
- You will work closely with the Social and Creative Associates to maintain cohesion across all brand touchpoints.
What we are looking for
- Strong initiative and comfort operating independently in ambiguous environments
- Experience building cohesive marketing systems
- Strong instincts for brand positioning, internet culture, and social platform ecosystems
- Comfort balancing creative direction with operational execution
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Interest in cities, design, infrastructure, physical objects, and cultural storytelling
- Ability to move quickly, iterate often, and self-manage effectively
