Clean Energy Program Coordinator
Clean Energy Program Coordinator
Program Overview: Team Up AmeriCorps places AmeriCorps members at organizations throughout Southwest Colorado. While these members serve as part of a regional cohort and participate in regional cohort trainings and activities, they spend the majority of their term serving directly at a specific host site organization. Through collaborative service, Team Up AmeriCorps members develop their own professional skills and passions, expand effectiveness of southwest Colorado organizations, and ultimately support people to thrive. Team Up has been utilizing collective impact initiatives since 2015 to collaborate across sectors and promote communication towards common goals within rural Southwest Colorado communities.
Four Corners Office for Resource Efficiency (4CORE) is a regional nonprofit organization serving Southwest Colorado with a mission to advance resource efficiency, energy affordability, and community resilience through education, programs, and partnerships. 4CORE works alongside households, local governments, businesses, utilities, schools, Tribal partners, and community-based organizations to help residents reduce energy costs, improve home comfort and safety, access clean energy opportunities, and build more climate-resilient communities.
4CORE’s programs serve a broad range of community members across La Plata, Archuleta, Montezuma, Dolores, and surrounding counties, with a focus on rural, income-qualified, older adult, Tribal, and disproportionately impacted communities. Our work includes residential energy efficiency services, healthy homes education, clean transportation outreach, electric vehicle education, beneficial electrification support, community engagement, and grant-funded project implementation.
Through programs such as the HEAR program, Energy Smart Colorado, clean transportation initiatives, Project SunShare, and community education efforts, 4CORE helps residents and organizations navigate available resources, rebates, and technical assistance. We provide outreach, education, program enrollment support, energy advising, community needs assessments, and partnership coordination to ensure that state, federal, utility, and philanthropic investments reach rural communities that are often harder to serve.
In the community, 4CORE acts as both a direct service provider and a trusted regional convener. We help translate complex energy and resilience programs into accessible, locally relevant services that support household affordability, health, safety, and long-term community well-being. Our work strengthens local capacity by connecting residents, contractors, local governments, and community partners around shared goals: reducing energy burden, improving quality of life, expanding access to clean transportation, and building a more resilient Southwest Colorado.
