Revenue Product Growth Intern

 Revenue, Product & Growth Intern

Role Summary:

This role sits at the intersection of strategy, product, growth, and revenue generation focused on building scalable revenue pathways and improving how people experience and engage with DOWA.

The Revenue, Product & Growth Intern will support initiatives that strengthen DOWA’s sustainability, visibility, partnerships, and conversion across applicants, sponsors, mentors, and ecosystem stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Systems

  • Design and support launch of scalable revenue initiatives such as:
    • Legacy Mentorship Network, Sponsored initiatives (LinkedIn Live, challenges, cohorts), Optional: merch and digital resource offerings.
  • Define:
    • Offers, Pricing, Value propositions, Sponsorship structures.

Product, UX & Conversion

  • Improve website design, flow and user experience:
    • Awareness → Trust → Action
  • Optimize: Application experience, Sponsor/partner journeys, Website conversion pathways.
  • Support development of landing pages and growth funnels

Growth, Visibility & PR

  • Develop: Messaging + positioning 
  • Organic PR opportunities: Articles, Podcasts, speaking engagements, thought leadership opportunities.
  • Support conversion-focused campaigns and ecosystem visibility initiatives
  • Assist with LinkedIn storytelling and strategic communications tied to partnerships and growth.
     

Requirements

  • Strong strategic and execution mindset
  • Interest in: Entrepreneurship, Product strategy, Growth, Innovation ecosystems, Revenue generation.
  • Experience in: Marketing, product, communications, or business strategy.
  • Ability to turn ideas into structured initiatives and live systems.
  • Strong communication and creative problem-solving skills.

● Undergraduate or graduate students of African descent or students with a specific interest in Africa are strongly advised to apply.
 

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Internship Compensation & Support

DOWA internships are hosted by African-led social enterprises and startups working in resource-constrained environments. While not all partners are able to independently fund full stipends, DOWA is committed to reducing financial barriers to participation. Support may include:

University and third-party grants

External fellowships and scholarships

DOWA-sponsored micro-grants (select placements)

Partner-provided stipends (where available)

Students are encouraged to apply for funding through their home institutions and external sources.

How to Apply for Funding:

● Begin searches early — 3–6 months before the internship start date.

● Gather strong essays and references highlighting your internship learning goals.

● Ask faculty or career advisors for nomination support where required.

Here is a link to some additional funding resources. DOWA provides guidance and documentation to support these applications. Internships are structured as learning-centered experiences focused on professional development, mentorship, and applied project work aligned with students’ academic and career goals. Participants engage virtually for approximately 14–16 hours per week over 8–10 weeks and receive access to ongoing mentorship, skills workshops, and global leadership programming.
