Data Analytics Intern (Graduate Level)

VeYou is a premium vertical micro-drama streaming app that launched in April. We're early stage, growing fast, and shipping new content and features every week.

This is an opportunity for an ambitious, self-directed graduate-level engineer to get real experience on an app that's already live in the App Store and Play Store, but still early enough that your work has an impact. You'll work with a small founding team to build the analytics layer that decides what we make next. You'll design how content performance gets measured, reported, and fed back into production and recommendations. Your work will help inform content partners deciding what to fund next, shape the product, and influence what viewers watch next. 

What you’ll do

  • Establish our BigQuery warehouse and build the analytics models on top of it
  • Ship automated daily reporting and partner-facing dashboards
  • Build content performance analyses: completion curves, scene-level drop-off, retention by series, cohort behavior across the catalog
  • Evolve our event instrumentation alongside engineering to sharpen what we measure
  • Prototype features and signals for the recommendation system

Possible projects

  • Scene-level drop-off analysis across the top series
  • Develop daily content performance digests
  • Build partner-facing dashboard for licensed content metrics
  • Funnel analysis from install through first paid episode
  • Recommendation system feature prototypes

Ideal candidate

Someone early in their career who wants to pursue ambitious work with a founding team. You'll work on projects end to end, ship to real users, and have direct line of sight to how your work changes the product. Best fit for people who are self-directed, comfortable with ambiguity, and want to influence how technical decisions are made.

Required

  • Currently in or recently completed a graduate program in data science, analytics, or a related field
  • Strong in Python and SQL
  • Familiarity with GCP
  • Has shipped production software
  • Must be a New York state resident

Bonus:

  • Interest in Data visualization
  • Knowledge of Recommendation systems
  • Experience with ETL pipelines
  • Experience with streaming, video, or content platforms
  • Experience with mobile analytics (iOS/Android event data)
  • Familiarity with experimentation and A/B testing
  • Interest in ML/LLM tooling (GCP Vertex AI, BigQuery ML)
  • Interest in film, TV, or storytelling
