When you join the Graphic + Interactive Design program at Valencia College, you are joining a team of design professionals that are passionate about design and the education of our students. Our faculty is devoted to preparing our alumni for successful entry-level positions in advertising agencies, design studios, and in-house creative departments for any industry in need. We are currently inviting applications for part-time instructors who are well trained as Adobe CC professionals and have impressive work experience in the areas of print design, branding, web development, and user interface design. This position requires the ability to teach at an undergraduate level in different modalities such as Face-To-Face, Mix Modes, online.
The qualifying candidates should be able to connect with students, provide substantial feedback and provide a quick turnaround of grades. Consistently complete rubric grading of student creative process and final project submissions that meet the course learning objectives. Must be able to promptly respond to communications from students and fellow faculty through Canvas, Zoom, and Email.
Candidates interested in teaching solely design courses should be proficient in software relevant to print design such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Adobe Acrobat. As well as providing instructions in courses directly related to design fundamentals, developing visual communication, design thinking, and creative problem-solving. To teach interactive design courses, the candidate should be proficient in various markup languages, such as HTML, and CSS with related software such as Brackets.io, Atom, WordPress, Webflow, and prototyping software such as Figma.

Teaching Responsibilities

- GRA 2141C Web Design
- GRA 2143C Advanced Web Design
- GRA 2133C Intermediate Interactive Design
- GRA 2134C Advanced Interactive Design II
- GRA 2201C Electronic Imaging
- GRA 2585C User Interface Design
What are the Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer graphics, graphic design, visual communication, studio art, interactive design, web design, OR other related graphic arts field OR an Associate’s degree in the discipline and demonstrated competencies in the discipline.

- These positions are available at the East, West &, Osceola campuses.
- Please note that you will need to establish and maintain Florida residency within 30 days from your start date if selected for this position.
