Elementary Art Teacher
POSITION: Full-time K-4 Art teaching position at Grayling Elementary.
DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a passionate, creative, and student-centered Elementary Art Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire young learners to explore their creativity, develop artistic skills, and build confidence through visual arts. This teacher will create a positive and engaging classroom environment that fosters artistic expression while supporting the social and emotional growth of all students.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based art lessons for students in grades K-4.
- Introduce a variety of artistic techniques, media, and cultural perspectives.
- Foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through art.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to integrate art across the curriculum.
- Organize and display student artwork throughout the school.
- Maintain art supplies, equipment, and classroom organization.
- Support school events, including art shows and family engagement opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Art Education or a related field (required).
- Valid Michigan teaching certification.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Knowledge of diverse art techniques, materials, and art history.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience integrating art with other subject areas.
- Familiarity with differentiated instruction and supporting diverse learners.
- Ability to incorporate technology into art instruction.
SALARY: According to the terms of the Master Agreement.
