Digital Marketing & Communications Coordinator/Intern

Role Overview

We are seeking a Digital Marketing & Communications Coordinator/Intern to organize, update, and manage our digital communication channels. This role focuses on improving our website, setting up and managing newsletters and email systems, and helping us communicate consistently with our community.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys building structure, simplifying processes, and supporting a nonprofit mission through clear, effective communication.

Key Responsibilities:

Website Management

Clean up and organize existing website content for clarity and ease of use.
Maintain and update website pages with current retreats, programs, and information.
Manage website features such as:
Event and retreat calendars
A weekly or ongoing updates section (blog/news area)
Ensure website forms (newsletter sign-ups, contact forms) are working properly and routed correctly.
Email Marketing & Newsletters

Set up and manage an email marketing platform (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc.).
Build and maintain email lists from website sign-ups and other sources.
Create newsletter templates and basic email automation.
Send regular newsletters and announcements to supporters and participants.
Troubleshoot and clarify where email sign-ups go and how they are managed.

Content & Communications

Help plan and organize content for newsletters and website updates.
Assist with writing, editing, and formatting content as needed.
Maintain a simple content calendar to ensure consistent communication.
Ensure messaging aligns with the organization’s mission and tone.

Systems, Training & Support

Document processes so leadership can understand and use systems independently.
Provide light training or guidance on website and email tools.
Identify additional digital or communication needs as the organization grows.
Qualifications

Preferred:

Experience managing websites.
Experience with email marketing platforms and newsletters.
Strong written communication skills.
Organized, self-directed, and comfortable working in a growing nonprofit environment.
Communications or marketing experience.
Basic design skills (Canva or similar).
Familiarity with analytics and performance tracking.
Ability to explain technical concepts in simple, clear terms.
