Game Host — Escape Experience Nashville

Location: 501 Union Street, Nashville, TN 37219 (on-site; this role cannot be performed remotely) Pay: $15.00/hour base + review bonuses + upsell commissions + tips + $10 per virtual game Schedule: Hiring for one full-time and several part-time positions — weekend availability required (Friday evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays are our busiest shifts). Weekday hours are also available.

About the job

At Escape Experience, our goal is simple: send every guest home saying that was the most fun they've had in months. As a Game Host, you're the person who makes that happen. You'll greet players, pump them up for their adventure, run the room behind the scenes, and help them celebrate (or laugh off) the ending.

You'll host two kinds of games:

In-person games. You'll welcome players when they arrive in downtown Nashville, brief them on their mission, monitor the room while they play, drop hints when they're stuck, and send them off with a great story to tell their friends.

Virtual games. This is the unusual part — and genuinely fun once you get the hang of it. You'll wear a live-streaming camera vest and become the eyes, ears, and hands for players solving the room remotely from their living rooms. They'll tell you where to look, what to pick up, and what to try. You're their avatar inside the room. Virtual games are hosted live from our Nashville location, so this is still an on-site role. Once you're fully trained as a virtual host, you earn an extra $10 per virtual experience on top of your hourly wage.

What you'll do

• Greet guests and get them excited for their game
• Run and operate each of our escape rooms (we'll train you on all of them)
• Brief groups of 2–10 players on rules and objectives
• Monitor players during games and provide hints when needed
• Host virtual games using our camera vest setup
• Answer phone calls and guest questions
• Recommend and book second games for groups who had a great time
• Reset rooms quickly and accurately between bookings using our setup sheets and 360° reference imagery
• Keep the space clean — games, bathrooms, and common areas
• Handle guest concerns with support from management
• Send post-game photos and stats to groups after their experience
• Represent Escape Experience professionally, online and in person

What we're looking for

• Charismatic and energetic — you're comfortable being "on" in front of strangers
• Dependable — you show up when you say you will
• Confident speaking in front of groups — you'll brief teams of up to 10 players
• Quick on your feet — things go sideways sometimes, and we need someone who can problem-solve in the moment
• Open to feedback — we'll coach you, and we want someone who wants to get better
• A love for puzzles and games is a big plus
• Weekend availability — non-negotiable for this role

Prior customer service, theater, improv, tour guide, or performance experience is a big plus but not required. If you love entertaining people and can keep your cool under pressure, we want to hear from you.

Physical requirements: This role involves standing for long periods, occasional crawling and bending, lifting up to 30–40 lbs, and minor game repairs and painting. You'll also need to reset locks, drawers, puzzles, and game components quickly between sessions.

Hours note: Shifts sometimes run late — occasionally until midnight — and hosts may be asked to stay past shift end on busy days or closing shifts.

Compensation & perks

Listed in order of typical earning potential:

• $15.00/hour base pay to start (higher depending on experience)
• Monthly review bonus — earn extra for every positive online review that mentions you by name. Great hosting gets noticed, and we pay you for it.
• Upsell commissions — earn a commission every time you book a group into a second game. Your earning potential here is genuinely up to you: hosts who naturally pitch a second adventure to groups that are clearly having a great time can add meaningfully to their take-home.
• Tips — gratuities from guests who want to show their appreciation go 100% to the Game Host(s) who ran the game
• $10 bonus for every virtual game you host (after training)
• Flexible scheduling and time-off requests accommodated whenever possible
• Near-future advancement — high performers are first in line for Team Lead promotions at this location
