College Internship Program — General Overview

About NVEEE

The National Voices for Equality, Education, and Enlightenment (NVEEE) is an award-winning, congressionally recognized national nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing bullying, violence, and suicide through education, mentorship, and community engagement. Our youth-centered programs promote leadership, mental wellness, and social responsibility across the United States.

To prevent bullying, violence, and suicide among youth, families, and communities through direct service, mentoring, and prevention education.

What We Do

NVEEE provides interactive educational dialogues and leadership programs that address bullying, mental health, social inequities, and stereotypes, designed to surface community-based solutions that support the health and well-being of all youth. Our dynamic, equity-based programs — which consistently fill to capacity — prepare youth and young adults to be socially responsible leaders. Student Peace Ambassadors who complete our comprehensive leadership curriculum often co-facilitate our programs, extending their impact into communities across the country.

Program Overview

NVEEE's College Internship Program offers part-time and full-time remote internship opportunities year-round across five committees. Interns contribute to real-world projects that directly support youth leadership, educational equity, and community empowerment while gaining substantive professional experience in the nonprofit sector.

  • Part-time: 20–30 hours per week
  • Full-time: 30–40 hours per week

Scheduling is flexible but should fall within Monday–Friday EST business hours. This is an unpaid opportunity. Academic credit may be arranged through your institution; NVEEE will provide all required supporting documentation upon request.

Location

This internship is available entirely remotely or in a hybrid format for students based in South Florida who may have access to in-person events and activities.

Available Committees

Interns are placed in one primary committee and may opt into a secondary committee based on interest and availability. The five committees are:

  • Administrative & Operational Support — General administrative functions, digital transformation, IT support, logistics planning, workflow automation, and AI tools integration
  • Community Outreach & Engagement — Volunteer and intern recruitment, mental health and wellness initiatives, strategic partnerships, secondary and collegiate partnerships, and general outreach
  • Fundraising, Grants & Sponsorship — Grant research and proposals, donor and sponsor development, sponsorship acquisition, and general fundraising campaigns
  • Marketing & Communications — Marketing and public relations, social media content creation, creative services, content writing and copy editing, and website development and maintenance
  • Program Development & Youth Engagement — Events and activities management, summer conference planning (PALS), survey and data analysis, lesson plan and curriculum design, and program budgeting

Eligibility

This program is open to currently enrolled undergraduate students (rising sophomores and higher), graduate students, and those enrolled in graduate programs. Freshmen are considered only if they previously participated in NVEEE's high school leadership programs, such as PALP or PALS. All majors are welcome; no GPA requirement applies. International students are eligible to apply, as the internship is virtual and unpaid.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • The ability to work independently, take initiative, and maintain accountability for assigned projects
  • Readiness to accept guidance, collaborate effectively with teammates, and uphold a strong work ethic
  • Eagerness to engage critically during trainings, brainstorming sessions, and committee meetings
  • A genuine commitment to NVEEE's mission and its work in bullying and suicide prevention, youth leadership, and LGBTQ+ and other social justice initiatives

Expectations

Interns are expected to treat this as a professional commitment. NVEEE's programs serve real youth and communities, and all interns are held to high standards of professionalism, integrity, and accountability. This includes adhering to agreed-upon work schedules, communicating proactively, meeting deadlines, and engaging actively with their assigned committee and the broader internship team.
