Parks Marketing Intern

This internship will support the Parks and Recreation Department with marketing and event promotion by creating visual content that informs and engages the community about the City’s recreational opportunities. This role is ideal for a creative individual with strong photography, videography, and digital design skills.

This position will primarily focus on the following projects:

  • Update the Parks image library with new images and video content.
  • Conduct a social media audit and create a content calendar that highlights underused facilities or follows social media trends by analyzing engagement across social media platforms.
  • Assist and implement the Movies in the Park and Park and Recreation Month campaigns.
  • Create a Program Impact Report on campaigns focusing on social media metrics and survey data.
  • Develop and create a series of short form video clips to promote parks.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Capture high-quality photography and video at City-maintained parks, open spaces and recreational programs and events.
  • Edit photos and videos using Adobe Creative Suite programs.
  • Create digital and print marketing materials, including social media graphics, flyers, and promotional videos.
  • Create and support social media content planning and posting across platforms.
  • Maintain organized media libraries for photos, videos, and design assets.
  • Assist with event setup, marketing booth support, and on-site promotional activities.
  • Develop and implement event surveys.
  • Conduct market research and gather analytics for campaign reporting.
  • Collaborate with team members to brainstorm creative ideas and support brand messaging.
  • Perform additional marketing or administrative tasks as assigned.
