Part-Time Human Resources Intern
Summary
Provides administrative and project support to the Human Resources Department by assisting with daily tasks and contributing to assigned initiatives.
Essential Functions
- Assists with filing and maintaining organized records;
- Assist with elements of civil service exams;
- Contributes to special projects as assigned;
- Performs other related duties as required;
Qualifications
Must be an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Human Resources or a related major.
Valid Texas Driver's License required
Internship Details:
- Duration: Approximately June 1st -July 31st.
- Hours: Interns generally work an average of 20-29 hours per week, depending on needs of the office and availability of intern. Office is open 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
- Dress: Business casual/ business professional
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Basic data entry, reporting, and maintaining accurate employee records
- Customer service and public interaction principles
- Computers, office software, and standard office equipment
Ability to:
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including presenting information to groups
- Perform accurate and organized filing
- Adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks efficiently
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds
- Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and grasping required
- Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and squatting required for filing and records work
- Frequent walking to assist employees and visitors
- Ability to sit, stand, and rotate upper body as needed throughout the workday
- Must be able to safely operate a vehicle, including coordination of hand, eye, and foot movements
